Print of the Month

Each print begins as I make an exposure on film while on location, I imagine the final print in Black & White. Then, I develop my exposed film using The Zone System, "a photographic technique for determining optimal film exposure and development, formulated by Ansel Adams and Fred Archer."

It is in the darkroom where that process continues. From the negative, I print on Ilford black and white silver gelatin fiber paper.  During the printing procedure, the light is controlled by manually burning and dodging the light. This process helps enhance the beauty of the print as a true art form.
